Construction & Design

A New Vision Rising at Minaret & Main

As fall approaches, the scale of Rockspring is coming into focus at the corner of Minaret Rd. and Main St. The residences are well under construction and on track for completion in 2028.

This month, work begins on our final building, as we pour the foundation for the amenity building, the future home of the restaurant, bar, spa, gym and much more. They’re part of 30,000+ square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities planned for Rockspring, including Mammoth’s only Nordic spa.

Architecture that puts the mountain first

Guided by Stanley Saitowitz, founder of Natoma Architects and a UC Berkeley professor emeritus, Rockspring brings a modern perspective to California’s mountain tradition. Familiar chalet forms are edited into a simpler, contemporary expression. Varied rooflines give the buildings rhythm. Deeply recessed balconies bring shadow and depth, while glass and clean proportions frame the Sierra.

Inside the residences, Studio PCH brings experience from a global portfolio,  including Nobu Ryokan Malibu and Nobu Hotel Los Cabos. Led by French architect Séverine Tatangelo, the award-winning practice works across architecture and interior design, with projects extending from California to Warsaw, Istanbul and Santorini.

At Rockspring, that design work is still unfolding. Séverine and her team are drawing on Mammoth’s alpine landscape and geothermal warmth, exploring how those contrasts can be felt indoors. The studies bring together warm timber and mineral stone, layered openings and softly diffused light. Rounded furniture forms echo stone worn smooth; seating is arranged for lingering and gathering after a day outside.

The intention is a home that feels rooted in Mammoth, with room for the traditions you’ll bring to it. We expect to share the interior designs and renderings in late 2026.
